Community Park's Music Program Selin Tuzun and Sevanne Knoch

Mrs. Farell
Is a music teacher and she teaches saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, flute, trombone, percussion (xylophone and drums), and euphonium.
She teaches very well and she teaches all sorts of songs!
Her saying is “practice makes perfect.” Which is true!
What she does that helps a lot is that she first hums the
notes in the song so you get the tune. Then she says a tip
for you - sit up straight and no back on the chair.

Concerts
In Mrs. Farrell's concert, the beginners or advanced students
play their instruments. The beginner students play  2-4 songs.
The advanced students play 2-5 songs. Two days a week,
all beginner students or advanced students go to the music
room and practice their concert songs.
Mrs. Chorba
Mrs. Chorba is the music teacher of the whole entire school.
She is married to the gym teacher of the school, Mr. Chorba.
She knows how to play all the instruments. Here are the
things Mrs.Chorba teaches in her music room …
Recorder(for 2nd graders), triangle, ukulele(for 3rd and up),
piano, maracas, choir,(for 4th graders and up.) xylophone,
drums, sand eggs, and that's all of the instruments in
Mrs. Chorba’s music class.

Choir
Choir is for students who are in 4th and 5th grade. How it
works is that they practice singing songs with Mrs. Chorba
in the cafeteria. They sing up to 5-6 songs. The whole fourth
grade and fifth grade sings all together. Sometimes the fourth
and fifth graders do an echo. There is a part of the fifth or
fourth graders in a section and another section sings a
different part.

Miss.Banks
Miss. Banks is a music teacher. She teaches strings
that are violin, viola, cello, and the bass.
You either go to your lesson on Monday or Tuesday. She
is a great teacher. She teaches you all the notes you
need to know and you play all sorts of songs. You get
your own instrument of your choice. You play songs
like "Ode to Joy" and songs that you don’t know and
they are fun to play and they sound great!!!!!!  She is also
so nice. She gives you advice if you are having trouble.

Violin     cello bass    viola

Concerts
In Ms. Banks concerts, the beginners play their songs
(normally 2-4 songs). Then the intermediates and
advanced play their songs (2-5 songs) and sometimes
if you are good enough in beginner you may be able to
play 1 song with the intermediates and advance. A day
or two before the concert you will practice as if you are
doing the concert. You will practice your songs and where
you are standing   For the concerts you play your songs
in front of the whole school and then after school you
play in front of your parents. The violins are in the front
or sides, the cellos are in the middle but more to the
side, and the basses are in the back on the sides.
Ms.Banks is in the front conducting and sometimes
the piano is there and is on the side.
